Final acts of CCHS Spring Sports 2013
Final acts of CCHS Spring Sports 2013: behind us and the school year coming to a close, the final games of the 2013 Spring Sports season have come. I have not gone to all the games that I wanted to this year. Let alone get the word out about my action photos and promoting correctly. Sometimes you just do not know how to go about everything until after the season has ended.
Well there is always Football in the Fall, Basketball in the Winter (you know that is going to go well), might add Hockey to my mix also. Been thinking about it for two seasons now but have not pulled the trigger yet doing anything about that. Another Spring season of Lacrosse, might even go back to shooting a little baseball and softball; track and Field. Have heard that I should be taking the team and individual photos. Maybe that will be the case.. I do hope that it is and I know well enough ahead of time, to plan my lenses that I will have with me.
Just need to keep going for the gold, with keeping up with my portfolio adding new items, taking odd photos down. Would really like to start adding in general portraits, in natural sunlight, with little need for any fill. This would be mostly during the summer when I am less busy.
CCHS Sprin Action Photos 2013 week of April 29
Action photos of base stealing (I was watching the Track meet most of the time and only got a few photos of the baseball game. I am planning on attending more game during the month of May)
Action Photos of the Pole Vault, and runners coming on the front straight away
My first attempt at photographing Lacrosse in any way, especially action wise. I do not know all of the rules and therefor can not predict how and when a shot attempt on the goal will come.
Boys Lacrosse is a much different game, and I am beginning to determine what sports I enjoy photographing the best.
Lacrosse game Action Photos
Lacrosse game Action Photos for the Girls JV Lacrosse game played at CCHS on Friday April 26, won by the CCHS team 15-4 and the Boys Freshmen Lacrosse game on Monday, April 29 won by Lincoln Sudbury in Overtime.
I am in the process of looking through the over 300 Lacrosse game action photos from each game, and picking out the best photos. As always, I only select some images for my website. All photos are available for purchase as prints with digital copies available ONLY with the purchase of 5 or more prints (digital photos will be the same as the prints).
The art of correcting photos to look good both by print and on the computer takes time and patients and can not be done in a short period of time for a large collection of photos. This is especially true when if comes to action sports photos. There are many factors that you are looking for in a photos that do not always present themselves.
Girls JV Lacrosse vs Boston Latin April 26, 2013
On a cold Friday afternoon late in April of the Spring Girls Lacrosse season, in a home game against Boston Latin, became my first attempt at photographing the action of Girls Lacrosse, in addition to seeing a game played. Today I learned a lot about other places to stand while photographing. The sideline is a good place to get the players running from one side of the field to the other and getting some side and face photos. I believe that locating myself behind the net or on one side of the net, beyond the end of the playing field would also be a place to take photos from.
The final score was 15-4 CCHS with the win
Photos to come in the next few days.

I am going to make the effort to attendant as many games as possible. I highly encourage anyone thinking purchasing photos this spring to contact me ahead of time, so plans can be made to photography your athlete in the heat of the action.
I will try and post the dates and game I will be attending a week or more in advance. This however does not guarantee that I will be at the game for the entire time. I have the tendency to go to multiple game on any given day.
Some photos from each sport will be shown online. All photos will not be posted. Anyone wishing to purchase prints, should contact me directly, and inquire or request photographs to be taken at a game this spring. Make sure when contacting me that you give as much detail as you can, including team, team level (ex. freshmen softball, or boys JV lacrosse), position (especially important in baseball and softball for getting fielding shots in addition to batting), and player number (very, very critical for me to have this as it is the only way I have to identify your student athlete; this is very important, that I must have in order to complete any requests or when searching through my photo archives.
